Provide input to a new PEI tourism growth strategy
Prince Edward Island’s tourism industry, in partnership with the Department of Economic Growth, Tourism and Culture, is developing a new 5-year growth strategy for the province.
Charting the Future: A Strategy to Accelerate PEI Tourism Growth to 2025
The primary goal of the strategy is to accelerate growth in tourism to 2025, with the ultimate aim of creating jobs and contributing to sustainable economic growth in the province. The proposed strategy will explore five key areas:
- Partnership and alignment;
- Remarkable tourism experiences;
- Research and market intelligence;
- Innovative marketing strategies and tactics; and
- Skills development and training.
Public Consultation
We want to hear from our tourism industry stakeholders from across Prince Edward Island. What are your views of the challenges and opportunities facing the province’s tourism industry?
You are invited to participate in an online survey from the link below. It will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
Workshops
In addition to this survey, we will be engaging with industry partners at workshops during the second week of February. As a tourism stakeholder you are invited to participate in a workshop session. The 3.5 hour interactive workshops will be facilitated by Twenty 31 and include a combination of presentations and group exercises.
Three workshops have been scheduled as follows:
Monday, February 10 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. at Kings Playhouse, Georgetown
(registration and refreshments from 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
Tuesday, February 11 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Village Musical Acadien, Abram Village
(registration and refreshments from 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.)
Tuesday, February 11 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. at Rodd Royalty, Charlottetown
(registration and refreshments from 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
How will input be used?
Feedback from this online consultation will inform the next stage. Twenty31 Consulting Inc, on behalf of the Tourism PEI Board of Directors, will conduct one-on-one interviews and workshops with people in the tourism industry. All responses will be confidential and only analyzed in aggregate by the consulting team from Twenty31 Consultants Inc.
Submissions will be accepted until February 26, 2020 at midnight.
