CAST Program

The Coping and Support Training (CAST) Program is an evidence-based group skills program that helps at-risk youth with: 

• substance misuse (drinking or using drugs); 
• mental well-being; and
• school performance.

The program has been proven to have a positive and lasting impact on youth and how they cope with stressors.

Who can get help?

CAST is offered to youth (age 13-18) in junior and senior high schools across Prince Edward Island through youth addiction counsellors.

How does the program work?

All students will be assessed to determine if the program is right for them.

CAST groups are held with 6-8 students and consist of twelve, 55-minute sessions.

What is the cost?

There is no registration cost or fee.

How do I get into the program? 

A request can be made through your school, addiction or mental health counsellor to have a CAST Program hosted at your school.
