School Breakfast Programs

School breakfast and snack programs encourage healthy eating, ensure students come to class prepared to learn, and support positive nutrition habits which help improve academic achievement.

Each week, community volunteers and school staff help provide approximately 68,000 breakfasts and/or snacks to approximately 15,000 students, free of charge.  School-based breakfast and snack programs are supported by provincial government funding, local donations, fundraising, and support from various provincial and national charities.
